This project is being built in Kaposvar, Hungary, for the Investor Şişecam, one of the world's largest producers of flat glass, glassware and glass packaging.
Doğuş İnşaat ve Ticaret A.Ş., part of Doğuş Group, is one of the world's most reputable companies, having completed more than 250 infrastructure and superstructure projects. It has been included on the World's Top 250 Construction Companies list, which has been drawn up every year since 2003 by ENR, on the basis of contractors' foreign project revenues from the previous year.
This project is extremely important for us for several reasons. To mention only two: Structura Concept is entering the Hungarian market for the first time; cooperation with such an exceptional Investor implies exceptionality on our part as well.
This complex of some 66,000m2 characterized by a precast concrete structure with a column grid of 30x14m is already enough of a design challenge.
The peculiarity of this project is that we produce the prefabricated concrete construction in Slovenia, which implies challenges in both transport and assembly.
From a designer's viewpoint it is crucial to align all the professions, all participants in the project, to check all possible deviations, predict potential future needs and prevent possible mistakes prior to the production and assembly of the prefabricated concrete structure. To achieve this, we must ensure intense cooperation by a large number of project participants, on the large number of procedures that need to be followed and approvals that must be obtained before the production of structural elements.
As a subcontractor for design, engineering, manufacturing and assembly of precast concrete elements, we have a great responsibility, because the basis of every building is its structure, where no mistakes can be permitted.
